Stop the movement of trains to meet the spread of Corona, starting from Monday in Morocco


The authorities in Morocco decided to completely stop the movement of trains in order to prevent overcrowding in order to counter the spread of the Corona virus.

The Moroccan authorities added that the decision will be implemented starting from Monday.

The Moroccan Ministry of Health announced today, Saturday, that the number of new infections due to the Corona virus has risen to 86.

On Thursday evening, the Moroccan authorities declared a state of health emergency and restricted movement in the country, starting at 6:00 pm on Friday, indefinitely, as an “inevitable” way to keep the new Corona virus under control.

A statement by the Moroccan Interior Ministry said that most people will be able to leave their homes to purchase food or medicines, but that the employees who are necessary to be present in the workplaces, and workers in the important sectors, will obtain permits that allow them to go to work.

The statement added that in order to preserve the health and safety of Moroccan society and after recording some developments regarding infection of non-nationals from abroad with the new Corona virus, it was decided to declare a “state of health emergency” and restrict movement in the country starting on Friday, 20 March 2020 at 6 pm indefinitely, As an inevitable way to keep this virus under control.

He pointed out that the state of health emergency does not mean stopping the wheel of the economy, but taking exceptional measures that require limiting the movement of citizens, by requiring leaving the residence headquarters to issue an official document with the authority’s men and agents in accordance with specific cases.
