The central bank issues new temporary decisions to organize deposits and cash withdrawals


The Central Bank decided, for an interim period, to set a daily limit for deposits and cash withdrawals at bank branches of 10 thousand Egyptian pounds for individuals and 50 thousand Egyptian pounds for companies (and this limit excludes companies from withdrawing the necessary to pay the dues of their workers).

The Central Bank stated – in a statement today, Sunday – that it was also decided to put a daily limit on deposits and cash withdrawals from ATMs by five thousand Egyptian pounds, and it is known that banks sterilize and disinfect those machines periodically.He added that the decision comes within the framework of the state agencies’ keenness on the health and safety of citizens and the reduction of the risks of the emerging corona virus, and the decisions it has taken which have witnessed a highly appreciated response.

To ensure protection and avoid crowding and gatherings, especially during periods of salary and pension disbursement, and in compliance with health, prevention, and safe distances instructions, and what the World Health Organization approved, and in light of the monitoring of the Central Bank of Egypt and its daily follow-up of the movement of transactions with banks … the Central stressed its concern for the safety of all citizens, calling on everyone to Reducing dealing in banknotes, relying on bank transfers and using electronic payment methods such as bank cards and mobile phone wallets, which have become available to all.

It is noteworthy that all the banks had canceled the expenses associated with the transfers and the use of electronic payment methods and tools in order to facilitate the citizens.

The Central Bank of Egypt confirmed that it was sure of the awareness of the Egyptian citizens and their concern for their homeland, themselves and their children who work in banks and who spare no effort to facilitate their lives.
