UEFA announced that there is no intention to change the name of Euro 2020 for the next European Championship, which has been postponed to be in the next year 2021.
The European Union said in a tweet published today, Friday: “For sure: although it will be held initially from June 11 to July 11, 2021, Euro 2020 will remain in the name of UEFA Euro 2020.”
Regarding the match being played in 12 countries as planned in 2020, UEFA explained: “We are confident that all stadiums will remain the same when the tournament takes place next year.”
He continued: “We confirm that the championship remains the same, to be held on the largest patch in the European continent.”
The European Union decided to postpone the Euro 2020 championship for a year due to the outbreak of the Coruna virus around the world, and to allow the local federation to complete the club championships.
