The Moroccan Ministry of Health announced on Friday evening that it had recorded 281 new cases of Corona virus during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of people infected in the country to 2564.
The ministry added that five new deaths were recorded, bringing the total number of deaths to 135. 32 people recovered, bringing the number of people recovered to 281.
Mohamed El Youbi, head of the Directorate of Epidemics in Morocco, said that 172 confirmed cases of the virus were recorded in the outposts in four of the 281 Moroccan cities registered within 24 hours.
The health emergency, imposed by Morocco to prevent the spread of the virus in the country, is expected to end on April 20, after it entered into force on March 20.
Some Moroccan media have indicated that the state of emergency may be extended for further weeks.
