The Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abi Ahmed, said that his country will start filling the reservoir of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam in the upcoming rainy season.
The Ethiopian News Agency reported on Wednesday evening that the Prime Minister’s remarks came on the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the start of the dam project.
“Ahmed” said: “The Ethiopians have demonstrated their ability to finance the project with their own resources, and they place a special position on the project because it is a symbol of sovereignty and unity.”
The agency noted that the dam project was launched 9 years ago, and its construction amounted to 72.4%, according to the proposal of the Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy, Celici Bekele.
