The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, announced Friday that the Tarawih and “Eid” prayers will take place at home if the Corona virus continues.
The Mufti’s announcement came in response to a number of questions addressed to him by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance related to the blessed month of Ramadan in the shadow of the Corona pandemic, where the first question came about the legality of Tarawih prayer in homes.
He replied, “As for Tarawih prayer, people pray it in their homes during the month of Ramadan this year, because it cannot be set up in mosques because of the precautionary measures taken by the competent authorities to combat the spread of the new Corona virus.”
As for Eid prayer in homes, he said: “If the status quo continues and it is not possible to establish it in the chapels and mosques designated for it, then it will be prayed in homes without a sermon after it. She described her without a speech after her. ”
