The Panama government has announced tough new quarantine measures, by segregating citizens by sex in an effort to slow the spread of the Corona virus.
The procedures start from today, Wednesday, when men and women will be able to leave their homes for only two hours at a time, and on different days.
Men will be able to go to the supermarket or pharmacy on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, and women will be allowed out on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
No one will be allowed to leave on Sunday, and the new procedures are expected to last for 15 days.
Earlier, health officials in Panama announced 5 new deaths, bringing the total number to 14, and 112 new infections were recorded.
