Suspicions of the leakage of the new Corona virus (Covid-19) from a laboratory in China have returned to the fore again, amid accusations by US President Donald Trump, of China, of causing the crisis.

And revealed, “Fox News” America, Washington conducted a thorough investigation about whether the new Corona virus, which infected more than two million people around the world and led to a state of economic stagnation, has escaped from a laboratory in Wuhan, China.

The American Network quoted several sources as saying that the virus was being tested in Wuhan Laboratory, but that it escaped in some way and infected the Chinese city population.

According to “Fox News”, the investigation and the data show that the Chinese scientists worked in the laboratory of Dr. Shi Zingli, who was working on antivirals and immunization against the coronavirus, especially with bats.

For its part, The Washington Post reported that, after several visits to the institute, the US embassy in Beijing alerted American authorities to insufficient safety measures in 2018, in a laboratory conducting studies on the corona virus caused by bats.

In turn, the head of the Institute of Virology, Wuhan, China, rejected US accusations that the Coruna virus had originated in his laboratory.

“This virus cannot have originated from us in any way,” Yuan Zhiming said in an interview with state television, published in English by the Chinese media, on Sunday.

He added: “We know clearly what kind of virus research is done at the institute and how the institute deals with viruses and samples.”

For his part, the laboratory director objected to the thesis, which experts had already rejected, that the virus may have already been created in the laboratory.

He stressed: “There is no evidence to prove that the virus is synthetic.”

What do we know about the laboratory?

The Institute of Epidemiology, created with the help of France, was established and cost nearly 40 million euros funded by China, and enables very accurate research aimed at rapid response in the event of an infectious disease.

It is located on the Wuhan hill, in China, near the city market, from which most reports and forecasts indicate the possibility of transmission of the epidemic to humans.

It is heavily protected, as it contains the most dangerous viruses known to us, such as Ebola, and has a level-4 “B-4” laboratory for biosafety, and there are only 30 B-4 laboratories in the world, half of which are in the United States.

It contains the largest group of virus strains in Asia with 1500 different samples depending on its website.

Last February, the institute denied news that the virus had leaked from one of its laboratories, confirming that it had received samples from the new coronavirus last December, which was unknown at the time.

On January 2, the institute stated that it had succeeded in decoding the genes of the new virus and transmitting its information to the World Health Organization on the 11th of the same month.

In turn, France, which has participated in the “B-4” laboratory to date, ruled out evidence linking the virus and its leakage from the laboratory.
