According to press reports, Pakistani model Zara Abid was among the victims of the crash of the Pakistani passenger plane in Karachi Friday.
The British newspaper “The Sun” said that Zara, which has more than 80,000 followers on the “Instagram” application, was on board the plane that crashed near Karachi Airport.
Civil aviation officials said that at least two people on board were rescued, and it was unclear whether they were among the two reported survivors.
While the mayor of Karachi said that none of the 107 passengers and crew had survived the disaster, the parents of the model are desperately trying to figure out what happened to their daughter.
Although there was no official confirmation that Zara was among the dead, fashion designer Khadija Shah tweeted, “The fashion industry lost Zara Abid in the plane crash today. She was a wonderful, diligent and professional girl.”
She added: “I was puzzled by the energy and vitality of her pictures – may God have mercy on her – so many people lost loved ones today, may God have mercy on them all.”
Actor Ayman Khan wrote: “Zara, you are a lover !!! We will miss you … God gives you a higher status in heaven.”
