African nations postponed to 2022 instead of 2021

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is considering postponing the African Cup of Nations to be held in 2022 instead of 2021 as scheduled.
The African Nations Cup is scheduled to be held from January 9, and ends on February 6, 2021, and will be held in Cameroon.

Radio Monte Carlo, “French, revealed his contact with a source inside” K “, which assured him the difficulty of organizing the next African Nations Cup in its next date due to the pandemic of the Corona virus emerging.

The same source confirmed that the Confederation of African Football is strongly considering postponing the tournament for a year to take place in January 2022.
French radio indicated that the source from within “K” pointed out the possibility of holding the tournament in the summer of 2022, meaning that it would be postponed for 18 months from the scheduled date.

So far, only two rounds of qualifying for the tournament have been held and the rest of the qualifying matches have been suspended due to the pandemic of the Corona virus.

The last tournament was held in the summer in Egypt, but the African Union decided to back down and establish the next edition in the winter in Cameroon.

The opportunity to hold the next African Nations Championship in the summer of 2022 appears to be acceptable, especially since the World Cup that will be hosted by the State of Qatar will be held in the winter of the same year.
CAF suspended the semi-finals of the CAF and CAF champions due to the spread of Corona virus.
