Ahmed Nagy, coach of the Smouha club guards, confirmed that he knew that Essam El-Hadary, the former goalkeeper of the Egyptian national team, had escaped from Al-Ahly while he was on the plane, indicating that what he did was a crime.
Nagy said in statements to the program “I acknowledge and confess” on the channel “On Time Sports”: “I knew that Issam Al-Hadary fled while on the plane, and I did not speak to him for 3 years, and what he did was a crime and he felt its consequences, and he apologized to me after this long period.”
He added: “Al-Hadary admitted that it was the biggest mistake he had made in his life, and he returned from Switzerland because the money was few, and we did not lose anything after his escape from Al-Ahly.”
Nagy continued: “Al-Hadary is more than a tired one, and he began to understand the meaning of professionalism and reached him with advice to continue playing for a long time.”
Regarding the decision to choose the team’s goalkeeper at the World Cup, Nagy said: “I sat a week with Hector Cuper, discussing who will play, and I used to say that El-Shennawy plays and after the Portugal match we made the decision.”
He continued: “The coach was the decision maker with the participation of Al-Hadari in the Saudi match, and we agreed as a technical body on this.”
Naji concluded his statements about his opinion if Al-Hadary had assumed the position of football director with Hossam Al-Badri: “I would have said that the system is a failure, because he did not prepare himself for this responsibility, and I told him previously that he should equip himself academically and he will not be a good trainer from previous experiences Just”.
