Mourinho has coached several prominent clubs in Europe, including Chelsea and Manchester United in England and Porto in his country, in addition to Inter Milan, Italy and Real Madrid.
Mourinho recalled the match that ended in the German team’s penalty shootout in a conversation with the Spanish newspaper “Marca” on Saturday and said: That night was the only time I cried after a football match. It was hard to bear the loss because Real Madrid in that season was the best in Europe.
This weekend marks the eighth anniversary of Mourinhos winning his only league title with Real Madrid, when he won the competition with 100 points, “a record equaled by Barcelona after one season,” depriving Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola of winning the competition for the fourth season in a row.
Mourinho continued his talk: this was a hat trick, if we put Portugal aside. I wanted to win the league in England, Italy and Spain. I am still the only coach to do so.
