Serious surprises about “chloroquine” Trump’s magic drug for Covid 19 treatment

New scientific studies have proven that the drug hydroxy chloroquine, which was promoted by President Donald Trump of America to treat Covid-19 disease, caused by the Corona virus, is not effective and has serious side effects on the heart.

In a study published Friday in the BMG magazine, researchers in France monitored 181 hospital patients suffering from pneumonia due to the emerging coronavirus and needing oxygen. The drug, which was initially promoted by US President Donald Trump, was given to eighty-four of them While the rest did not give the medicine.

After observing the patients, the French researchers found no significant difference between the results of the two groups, AFP reported.

A second study was conducted in China that included 150 patients with the Coronavirus, they were divided into two groups, one of which received hydroxychloroquine, while the second did not receive this drug.

After 4 weeks, tests revealed similar rates of disease in the two groups, so that adverse reactions to treatment were more common in the group receiving the drug, and the severity or duration of symptoms did not differ between the two groups.

A study published on Thursday in the New England Journal of Medicine also showed that this drug does not fight the virus, according to CNN.

Another study, published on Monday in the Journal of the American Medical Association, showed that clorkine, which is originally used to treat malaria patients, was “not effective” at all against the disease caused by the Coruna virus.

Studies have shown that treatment of patients with “Covid-19” with malaria known as “hydroxychloroquine” did not have a positive effect on patients, and that it caused other health complications for them.

Even before the reports were published, the US Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health issued warnings about Corona patients’ use of this controversial drug.

Dr. William Schaffner, an infectious disease expert and consultant to the American Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said: “The study has virtually knocked out the nail in the coffin of hydroxychloroquine,” which Trump considered a magic medicine.

In the most recent study, conducted at the University of Albany, New York State, researchers examined 1,438 patients with coronavirus, who were admitted to 25 hospitals in the New York City area. After statistical studies, it was found that the death rate of patients who took hydroxychloroquine was similar to that of those who did not take this drug.

The mortality rate for those taking hydroxychloroquine, as well as the antibiotic azithromycin, also appeared to be similar.

In addition, patients who took the combination of the drug increased their risk of heart attack during the study period at a rate of twice, which confirms that the incidence of heart disease is one of the known side effects of hydroxychloroquine, as well as its ineffectiveness with respect to the virus.

“The most important finding of this study is that it is very consistent with the guidance of previous specialized bodies issued in April,” said David Holtgrave, Dean of the School of Public Health at the University of Albany.

The European Medicines Agency indicated last month that there was no indication that “hydroxychloroquine” could treat Covid-19 disease, and said that some studies had recorded serious and sometimes fatal heart problems for those who took this drug.

Canada also warned, weeks ago, against the use of the two anti-malarial drugs, chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine, to treat corona, and said that these two drugs may cause serious side effects, and these medications should only be used with medical supervision.

Despite the doctors ’warnings, and stressing the need for more research, in late April, state and local governments across the United States obtained 30 million doses of the drug that President Trump promoted to treat people with corona!

The US Food and Drug Administration warned doctors in April against prescribing “hydroxychloroquine” to treat Covid 19 disease outside hospitals or research sites, due to reports of serious side effects, including serious arrhythmia and death among patients.

This was a new warning from this drug, which Trump has repeatedly mentioned 17 times on public occasions, and has described it as a magic medicine, indicating its potential, although his health advisers have told him it is unproven.
