On Friday, the United States recorded 1,021 coronavirus deaths in twenty-four hours, while China recorded 5 new cases with Covid-19 and 3 asymptomatic cases, while Brazil recorded the third highest death toll in the world.

The total number of deaths from the epidemic in America has reached more than 108,000, according to a toll prepared by Johns Hopkins University.

Data published by the university, which is a reference in tracking infections and deaths caused by the Corona virus, showed that the number of people infected with the virus in the United States exceeded 1,870,000. And 485,000 people have recovered.

And the United States is vastly different from the rest of the world, the country most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in terms of injuries or deaths.

In contrast, the National Health Commission of China said, on Friday, that the country recorded 5 new infections with the Corona virus, and 3 cases without symptoms of the disease.

She added that all five cases came from abroad. China does not count patients who do not show symptoms of the disease as confirmed cases.

This brings the total number of corona injuries in China to 83,027 and the death toll remains stable at 4,634.

This comes as the death toll from the Corona virus rose to more than 34,000 in Brazil, to become the third highest in the world, surpassing the death toll in Italy, according to official figures released Friday morning.

The Ministry of Health stated that Brazil set a new record of deaths from the virus, which reached 1473 deaths within 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 34,021 out of 614,941 cases. For its part, Italy recorded 33,689 deaths out of 234,013 injuries.

However, the Brazilian scientific community considers these figures far less than the reality, and this is due to the lack of sufficient laboratory tests by the authorities to reveal the true number of the injured.

In a country of 212 million people, the health system in the two states worst affected by the epidemic, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, is on the verge of collapse, as is the case in a number of states in the north and northeast.

Brazil, whose President Jair Bolsonaro has consistently called for the country to be reopened to protect the economy and jobs, alone accounts for more than half of the new infections and deaths of the Coronavirus in Latin America.

In Peru, the death toll from the Corona virus has crossed the threshold of five thousand deaths, the Ministry of Health announced on Friday.

Peru is the second country most affected by the Covid-19 epidemic in Latin America after Brazil.

In all, Peru recorded 5,031 deaths from the virus, of which 137 were counted during the past 24 hours. The number of HIV infections also increased by 4,284, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 183,198.
