Mahmoud Al-Khatib, Chairman of Al-Ahly’s Board of Directors, participated in the meeting of the Clubs Committee of the African Football Confederation, which took place this afternoon Wednesday.
The meeting was organized through the (video conferencing) feature to discuss the appropriate timing for the semi-final and final matches of the CAF Champions League.
Also to discuss the venue of the remaining matches of the two competitions, after stopping for the past three months due to the spread of the Corona virus.
The Committee also discussed in the meeting all the scenarios put forward to complete the two competitions, which is a firm desire of the African Union and those responsible for it.
The Clubs Committee also touched on the Champions League and Confederation system in the new season, and the appropriate time to start the first rounds of the two championships.
The committee decided on some recommendations regarding all of the aforementioned, and it will be submitted to the executive office of the Confederation of African Football to take decisions that serve the interest of the game and maintain it technically and marketingly.
Al-Ahly will play in the CAF Champions League semi-finals against Wydad Moroccan, while Zamalek will play against Moroccan Raja.
