Riad Touiti, head of the legal committee of the Tunisian Esperance Club, made a big surprise, as he announced the possibility of the Sports Arbitration Court to return to the final of the African Champions League, which brought together its team, the Moroccan WAC.
“Among the decisions that the court may rule, is to repeat the match,” Al-Tuwiti said in comments to Tunisian Channel 9.
And he added, “The court can cancel the punishment imposed on Wedad, and declare that he will not withdraw, which will divert the course of the case.”
The Sports Arbitration Court listens to the parties concerned before issuing its final ruling in the crisis of the Champions League final match, which was not completed before the announcement of the referee, the champion of the continent.
Wydad officials said they had not withdrawn from the match, accusing Esperance of threatening Ahmed Ahmed with the crowd present at Rades Stadium.
Wydad players refused to continue the game, demanding a goal and were surprised that the video technology was not working.
The referee then announced the end of the match by crowning Esperance, before Wydad went to court in defense of his right.
