Sahar Abdel-Haq, a member of the five-member committee of the Egyptian Football Association, confirmed that the Egyptian football is going through exceptional circumstances during the current period due to the outbreak of the new Corona virus “Covid-19”.
Abdel-Haq said, in a telephone interview with MBC Egypt, “We will announce 10 days after the official date for the return of the league, after completing the tests for detecting the Corona virus.”
She added: “We never discussed whether or not the League returned, but rather we discussed the mechanism for implementing the decision to resume the activity.”
He continued: “FIFA’s support for the Football Association was 200 thousand dollars, but we distributed more than that to the clubs.”
And she continued: “We have not received $ 500,000 from the Confederation of African Football. CAF has already announced this support, but we have not received any official letters on this matter yet.”
Sahar Abdel-Haq completed her statements saying: “Amr Al-Janayni, the president of the Football Association, will be absent from Wednesday’s meeting with the technical managers of the clubs because of special circumstances, but he will follow up with us on the progress of things.”
