Russia expressed its hope that Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan can settle the differences over the Renaissance Dam to serve regional stability, noting that there is no alternative to a negotiated solution to the issue.
“We hope that Addis Ababa, Cairo and Khartoum can reach an agreement on building the Renaissance Dam in a way that serves regional stability,” Russias permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, said during his speech via video conferencing technology.
