The German Bundesliga League (BFA) has penalized Borussia Dortmund, Jadon Sancho and Manuel Akanji, for failing to abide by the specific rules for the prevention of coronavirus.

Sancho and Akanji were fined for hosting a hairdresser at home, with players or hairdressers not wearing any personal protective equipment.

Pictures of Dortmund players have spread in the past few days while hairdressing their hair at home, making the German Bundesliga move to punish the pair.

The German Bundesliga published a statement that read: “The DFL imposed a fine on Manuel Akanji and Jadon Sancho Borussia Dortmund players for violating hygiene and protection against infection while hairdressing their hair at home.”

The association’s statement concluded: “There is no doubt that professional footballers also have the right to cut their hair. However, this must now be done according to the medical rules.”
