The “Opta” website, which specializes in collecting and publishing sports statistics, has revealed the list of most effective strikers in front of goal in the five major leagues.
The “Opta” site is based on determining the effectiveness of each player against the goal, based on the percentage of chances it converts to the goals of each attacker separately.
To avoid confusion in the evaluation of players, Opta considered that the opportunity to score a goal is one in which it is reasonable to expect a goal from the attacker, when he is alone with the goalkeeper, and when he shoots the ball from very close to the goal.
The list of 20 players witnessed the presence of several stars, most notably the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, Juventus striker, who came in seventh with an efficiency of 68 percent, and the Egyptian Mohamed Salah, the wing of Liverpool, who ranked 13, with 61.9 percent.
As for the lead, it was awarded to an unnamed player named, Rowen Hennings, who plays for Fortuna Dusseldorf, who is ranked 16th in the Bundesliga table.
Hennings scored 13 goals from 17 attempts this season, with a score of 76.5 percent.
French star Leon Musa Dembele finished second with a 72 percent goal against goal, followed by Italian club striker Josep Ilichish, with 70 percent.
Interestingly, Barcelonas Lionel Messi, who leads the top scorer in the Spanish league, and his runner-up Karim Benzema, Real Madrid striker, was not on the list.
