It is expected that work will be suspended tomorrow, Wednesday, in 5 public banks on the occasion of the end of their budgets today, Tuesday, June 30, and that they will return to work next Sunday after spending the holiday of the “June 30 Revolution” tomorrow, Thursday, and then the weekly holiday on Friday and Saturday.
The banks whose budget ends on June 30 of each year are represented by only 5 banks: Al-Ahly, Egypt, the Egyptian Real Estate, the Egyptian Agricultural and the Egyptian for Export Development.
While all other banks will continue to work tomorrow, Wednesday, with the start of their holiday tomorrow, Thursday, to celebrate the “June 30” anniversary, and then the weekend.
This comes after the central bank modified the June 30 revolution anniversary leave to Thursday instead of Tuesday, after the government announced the implementation of a new system of official holidays that fall in the middle of the week.
And Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, issued a decision yesterday, Sunday, that next Thursday, July 2, 2020, will be a paid official holiday, on the occasion of the anniversary of the June 30 revolution, instead of tomorrow, June 30, 2020.
Nader Saad, the spokesperson for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, said in a statement that the decision to grant Thursday official leave instead of Tuesday, comes within the framework of the government’s keenness to provide more opportunity for citizens; To spend a vacation related to the weekend, and invest them however they like.
The decision stipulated that this leave be granted to workers in ministries, government departments, public bodies, local administration units, public sector companies, the public business sector and the private sector.
The decision also stipulated that this leave does not apply to all examinations work in schools, institutes, and universities, and will continue according to the prescribed dates.
Saad said that the coming period will witness the expansion of the application of this system so that the next Thursday on the occasion for which the leave is scheduled is considered an official holiday, instead of the holidays that occur in the middle of the week, with the exception of holidays for Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha and Christmas.
