Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, confirmed that his country is ready to host the semi-finals of the African Champions League.
“We are ready,” said Ashraf Sobhi, in televised comments to On Time Sports on Monday, in the event that the Confederation of African Football made a decision to assign the mission to Egypt.
He added that he had contacted the five-member committee in the Egyptian Football Association to confirm Biladah’s ability to host the remaining matches of the African Champions League.
He explained: “There is no objection to hosting the African matches, and we communicate with the Football Association and CAF, to find out the final decision,” stressing: “We are always ready with the basic infrastructure and capabilities and this is what we told Al Jabaliya.”
Al-Ahly and Zamalek clubs from Egypt, Al-Raja and Al-Wedad from Morocco qualified for the African Champions League semi-finals.
