Washington – (dpa):
“There is no guarantee that the United States will have an effective vaccine against the emerging coronavirus by the beginning of next year,” said chief US infectious disease expert Anthony Fuchi on Tuesday.
“But scientists are cautiously optimistic that we will know how effective” by that time, Fauchi said in testimony before Congress.
He also worries about the high number of injuries in more than half of the US states, including Arizona, Florida and Texas.
He explained that there is an alarming “phenomenon of all or nothing”, as states are either closed entirely or reopened quickly only to see people crowding in bars and ignoring all public health recommendations.
