Leading American infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fuchi, has appealed to younger groups to adhere to the rules of social separation and other measures to reduce the spread of the Corona virus, which has increased strongly in parts of the country.
“Please take societal responsibility and be part of the solution, not part of the problem,” he said in an interview broadcast live on Thursday with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Social media platforms, including Facebook, have been criticized for allowing misinformation about the pandemic, such as dummy remedies and widespread conspiracy theories.
New cases of Covid-19 caused by the Coronavirus in the United States have risen to Nearly 70,000 cases per day, compared to less than 20,000 cases in May. Fauchi said that the average age of the injured has fallen by about 15 years, as younger groups become infected, and many of them may not show strong symptoms of the disease.
Fauchi warned that even those who had no symptoms could spread the virus, increasing the risk of infection for more vulnerable people.
He said that some states have begun reopening institutions and stores, although they have not complied with the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In other states, he said, “citizens were cautious in the wind,” citing photos showing people gathering in bars without protective masks.
“We have to rearrange our ranks,” Fauchi said, noting that some regions of the country are much less dangerous than others.
People are urged to Use gags, avoid crowded places, and stick to social spacesAnd pay attention to that open spaces are always better than indoor places.
He said: “We should look at public health measures as a way or gate to restore the economy.”
