Dr. Osama Al-Abed, Chairman of the Religious Committee in the House of Representatives, and the presenter of the draft law on amendments to the House of Fatwa, commented on the announcement by the Council of Senior Scholars that they objected to the bill, saying: “I hope that the gap does not widen.”
Al-Abd said, in exclusive statements to “Masrawy”, today, Saturday, that the bill came out of the religious committee with approval, and the decision is now in the hands of the plenary session of parliament, stressing that the objection of the Ulema will be presented to the parliamentarians, discussing it and taking an opinion on it, whether by approval or rejection. .
He added: “The draft law did not diminish the powers of Al-Azhar. The mufti who chooses it is Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and there is no disagreement or disagreement, especially as the Minister of Awqaf is also a member of the Islamic Research Academy.
Al-Azhar Al-Sharif sent a letter to Dr. Ali Abdel-Al, Speaker of the House of Representatives, which includes the opinion of the Al-Azhar Senior Scholars Authority in the draft law regulating the Egyptian House of Fatwa, presented to the House of Representatives.
