The World Health Organization has announced the end of trials of the drugs “hydroxychloroquine” and “lopinavir” / “ritonavir” because they are ineffective against the Corona virus.

The organization said in a statement today, Saturday, that the two medicines “did not achieve the reduction of the mortality rate for those infected with Covid-19 in hospitals, or reduced slightly.”

The organization added that its decision to stop the experiments pertains only to treating injured people in hospitals, and will not affect other studies, as the two medicines are used to treat patients outside hospitals or for prevention.

It is reported that “hydroxychloroquine” is a drug used to treat people with malaria, while “lopinavir” / “ritonavir” is used to treat people with AIDS.
