The Ministry of Irrigation announced the resumption of the tripartite ministerial meetings of water ministers from the three countries Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia, regarding the agreement to fill and operate the Renaissance Dam under the auspices of South Africa, as the current president of the African Union, and in the presence of observers from the United States of America, the European Union and South Africa and representatives of the Office of the African Union and the African Union Commission , And legal experts from the Federation’s office.

This comes within the framework of the African mini-summit held under the auspices of the African Union, on the 26th of last June, in the presence of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, chaired by President Cyril Ramafuza, President of the Republic of South Africa, and the current President of the Union, and in the presence of both members of the African Union Office from Kenya, Mali and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, With the participation of Abdullah Hamdock, Prime Minister of Sudan, and Abi Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia.

Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia reviewed their position regarding the Renaissance Dam negotiations, which showed that there are still fundamental differences at the technical and legal levels between the three countries, and it was agreed to complete the discussions tomorrow, Saturday, with the same mechanism in the presence of observers and experts.
