“Lake Nasser will be able to deal with the elimination of the water deficit that could be caused by the Renaissance Dam, but this will lead to a decrease in the Egyptian strategic reserve of water in the lake,” said Dr. Alaa al-Zawahiri, a member of the Nahdha Dam negotiation committee.
He added during a phone call to the program “The Story”, which is presented by the media Amr Adib via the satellite «Mbc Egypt», on Monday evening, that the most important problems that Egypt will face as a result of filling the Renaissance Dam, are the occurrence of a natural drought in conjunction with the latest industrial, indicating that there will come periods of drought In it, the High Dam and the Renaissance Dam must deal together, by launching water in Ethiopia.
He continued: «Ethiopia holds a dam agreement to generate electricity, which should not be loaded with political dimensions about its future projects, water quotas, and agreements with the Nile Basin countries.»
And the leaders of the African Union will hold a summit tomorrow, Tuesday, to discuss the crisis of building Ethiopia for the Renaissance Dam on the Nile.
The meeting will be held under the auspices of the African Union, which is chaired by South African President Cyril Ramafuza.
