Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, stressed, on Sunday, the need to adhere to preventive and precautionary measures and follow social distancing measures in anticipation of the increase in the number of new Coronavirus (Covid-19) infections, especially after the increase in gatherings during Eid Al-Adha.
The Minister directed a number of advice that citizens should follow during the current period of anticipation and caution to limit the spread of the new Corona virus by avoiding family gatherings and maintaining social distancing between individuals in public places, provided that the spacing distance is not less than 1 meter, and the obligation to wear the mask while following Instructions for wearing and safe disposal.
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Adviser to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs, the official spokesperson of the ministry, confirmed the readiness of isolation hospitals to receive new cases of infection with the Coronavirus, in addition to diagnosing and triage in all hospitals of the Ministry of Health and Population and dispensing treatment for home isolation cases, pointing to the follow-up of work progress through surveillance teams And the tree of contacts for cases of infection investigation.
“Mujahid” pointed out that, in order to avoid the spread of infection, one should not shake hands during the meeting, especially in closed places, with the need to wash hands with soap and water continuously for a period of not less than 20 seconds or rub them with alcohol, and the gathering of large numbers of citizens must also be prevented. In public places such as markets, shops, etc., stressing the necessity not to share personal tools with others, and to avoid touching unclean surfaces.
Mujahid urged individuals of 60 years of age or more or anyone suffering from chronic diseases, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, chronic lung disease, cerebrovascular disease and chronic kidney disease, and pregnant women, to avoid gatherings. They are most likely to contract infectious diseases, and go to the nearest hospital if any symptoms are felt.
Mujahid continued that, in the interest of the public health of citizens, medicines should not be taken, especially vitamin drugs or medicines that raise immunity without consulting a doctor, and care must be taken to follow a healthy diet, which strengthens the immune system, such as eating healthy foods rich in natural vitamins and zinc, and being careful. To eat fruits, vegetables and fish as an important source of omega.
Mujahid emphasized the need to avoid eating processed meat and fast food, noting the importance of making sure to drink 8-10 cups of water a day to maintain body moisture, in addition to the importance of consuming juices rich in vitamin C to strengthen immunity, and taking an interest in exercising constantly to raise the body’s immunity. .
