Dr. Mohamed Nasr, professor of cardiovascular surgery at the National Heart Institute, added that there are factors that increase the chances of young people developing blood clots.
He explained that genetic factors are one of the main causes of stroke in young people, pointing to the discovery of a genetic mutation in the Corona virus, and doctors have noted that young stroke patients have genetic genes that cause fat to deposit on the inner walls of blood vessels, which leads to atherosclerosis.
Nasr pointed out that neglecting diabetes treatment increases the chances of stroke.
He said that smoking is a factor that causes clots, because tobacco contains chemicals that are deposited in the inner walls of the arteries, which exposes them to clogging and hardening.
The Egyptian doctor pointed out that obesity causes strokes, because being overweight causes a high level of cholesterol in the blood, which leads to atherosclerosis.
