Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, presented the latest developments regarding the situation of the new Corona virus in Egypt, yesterday, Wednesday.
During the cabinet meeting, the minister discussed the expected scenarios for the second wave of the emerging corona virus, if it occurs.
Yesterday, Wednesday, Egypt recorded a significant increase in the number of Corona infections compared to the recent period, as it recorded 206 new cases that proved positive in laboratory analyzes of the virus, as part of the necessary surveillance, investigation and examination procedures that the ministry conducts according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, pointing to the death of 19 new cases.
Masrawy monitors the minister’s most prominent statements regarding the procedures that must be followed during this stage in light of the increasing number of injuries again, and they are as follows:
Increasing the pace of implementation of the President’s initiatives on public health, especially the initiative to treat chronic diseases.
Complete awareness-raising by following all precautionary measures and ensuring that citizens are not complacent.
Adherence to infection control standards in all state facilities in order to preserve public health.
Avoiding the occurrence of a new severe wave of disease, which may require strict measures by the state to restore the commitment of citizens to the precautionary measures.
– The occurrence of a “second wave” is necessarily related to a false sense of safety among people that the epidemic is over, and thus pushes them to lax in adhering to precautionary measures, adhering to wearing masks and achieving social distancing.
Finding a vaccine will not prevent the transmission of infection with the Coronavirus, but will reduce the chance of the infection spreading, and in the event of an infection, it will reduce the severity of symptoms.
