The Comprehensive Health Insurance System called for those recovering from the Coronavirus to donate plasma to the national blood banks to use it in treating HIV-infected cases inside isolation hospitals, and the comprehensive health insurance system said that the plasma is a component of blood in which antibodies are formed upon recovery from the virus.

It is noteworthy that plasma is the liquid part of blood that contains water, salts, enzymes, antibodies and other proteins, and it is the largest individual component (about 55%) of human blood, which remains after removing red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and other cellular components.

When a virus passes from an infected person to a healthy person, the immune system has multiple defenses, according to Dr. Michael Donato, lead researcher in the Therapeutic Plasma Study at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey, the innate immune response is the body’s immediate reaction, which is a general guard. Against any foreign cells, after the virus penetrates this defense there is a period of time for the adaptive immune system to produce specific antibodies against the virus.
