This came during a meeting held by the Minister of Health and Population, today, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky, Assistant Minister of Health for Supervision and Follow-up Affairs and Head of the Health Care Authority for Comprehensive Health Insurance, Dr. Muhammad Hassani, Assistant Minister of Health and Population for Public Health Initiatives, and Dr. Muhammad Dhahi, President of the Public Authority For health insurance, Dr. Hana Sorour, head of the primary care sector, and Dr. Mustafa Ghanima, head of the curative medicine sector, to follow up the progress of work on the initiative of the President of the Republic to follow up and treat chronic diseases.
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and the official spokesperson for the ministry, explained that the campaign provides 108 different types of medicines, including medicines (pressure, sugar, and liquidity, lipid reducers, coronary vasodilators, and heartbeat regulating drugs). Through 228 outpatient hospitals, 321 health units and medical centers, and 89 mobile medical convoys, all governorates of the Republic.
Mujahid added that the minister directed the inclusion of all citizens benefiting from various health initiatives, within the initiative of the President of the Republic to follow up and treat chronic diseases, conduct the necessary examinations for them and dispense treatment to them through the “100 million health” database, in addition to providing them with the necessary awareness of the need to urge Their families screen for chronic diseases.
Mujahid continued that the minister directed to send messages on mobile phones to citizens, especially those over 40 years old, urging them to go immediately to the nearest hospital, health unit or mobile clinic to sign an examination and follow up on their health condition, and to check on them, as they can know the campaign’s working hours and the nearest location Through the “Egypt Health” app, they should appeal to citizens with chronic diseases to monitor diseases (heart, pressure, diabetes), in addition to detecting “kidney” diseases.
“Mujahid” revealed that the governorates that witnessed the highest frequency of the initiative are (Assiut, Giza, Sharkia, Beheira, Qena, Menoufia, and Dakahlia), adding that the age group most frequented the initiative is from 40 to 60 years old.
He pointed out that safe corridors have been allocated for the entry and exit of patients in hospitals to support and encourage patients with chronic diseases to continue to complete their treatment and follow up their health in safe ways, and to prevent mixing between patients infected with the Coronavirus and patients without the virus, stressing that all necessary preventive and precautionary measures are taken and infection control methods are followed. And taking into account social distancing, in addition to requiring those who visit the campaign to wear a muzzle, and wash hands before and after they are examined with alcohol disinfectant.
