Reuters statistics revealed that Corona deaths worldwide exceeded the million mark on Tuesday, with the number of deaths increasing amid an acceleration of injuries in a number of countries.

The number of deaths due to diseases related to the Coronavirus has doubled from half a million in just three months, and the death list is topped the United States, Brazil and India.

Around the world, more than 5,400 die every 24 hours, according to Reuters calculations based on the average deaths so far in September.

This equates to about 226 deaths an hour or one every 16 seconds. Watching a 90-minute football match, an average of 340 people die.

The United States, Brazil and India account for about 45 percent of all Covid-19 deaths globally, while the Latin America region alone accounts for more than a third of the deaths.
