Separate Alternative Party for Germany An far-right official Monday appeared in footage secretly filmed months ago, talking about the possibility of gassing refugees.
In the recording, which was secretly filmed by Prozbin TV in February, Christian Lott, the party’s spokesman at the time, was speaking in a Berlin cafe to someone who he thought was sympathetic to the challenges his party was facing.
When asked whether the AfD wanted to see more immigrants, he replied, “Yes”.
“Because after that things will go better for the AfD,” he said. We can still shoot them all afterwards … or gass them all, whichever you want. I don’t care either way! ”
The Die Zeit newspaper said it had seen the video, adding that nothing indicated Lott was joking.
On Monday, German media announced the dismissal of Lute from his job as an official in the party’s parliamentary group. A spokesman for the party was not immediately available for comment, and Loot was not immediately available.
The party had already fired Lott from the spokesperson in April over an email in which he wrote that the word “fascist” had become cliche due to overuse.
