After the death of the Emir of Kuwait, Sabah Al-Ahmad, according to official data, Sheikh Nawwaf, who is 83 years old, may assume the position of Crown Prince of Kuwait 14 years ago. February 7, 2006, the National Assembly pledged allegiance to him unanimously during a special session on February 20, and he took the constitutional oath before the Emir of Kuwait and the Council on the same day.
Nawwaf was born on June 25, 1937 AD in Kuwait City in Fareej Al-Shuyoukh (now the site of Al-Muthanna Complex). He is the sixth son of the tenth ruler of Kuwait, the late Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, who ruled Kuwait from 1921 to 1950.
He is married with four sons and a daughter, and they are: the eldest son, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nawwaf, Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawwaf, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nawwaf, Sheikh Salem Al-Nawwaf, and Sheikha Sheikh Al-Nawwaf
He studied in the various Kuwait schools, namely Hamada, Sharq and Al-Naqra schools, then in the Eastern and Mubarakiya School, and continued his studies in different places in Kuwait, where he was distinguished by his keenness to continue his educational attainment, and this trait continued to accompany him later and was manifested by His Highness’s encouragement for students of knowledge in various stages of primary, intermediate and secondary education And Al-Ali, based on His Highnesss vision of the importance of educational attainment, which is the basis for the progress and advancement of societies.
In 2006, His Highness, the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sabah Al-Ahmad, issued an Amiri order recommending Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as Crown Prince.
