Haitham Saad al-Din, a spokesman for the Ministry of Manpower, praised President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s directives on the need to discuss the possibility of extending the disbursement of the irregular employment grant estimated at 500 pounds until the end of this year, due to the Corona pandemic.
Saad Eddin explained to Masrawy that the Ministry of Manpower is currently working on continuing the disbursement of the fourth stage of irregular employment, in accordance with President Sisi’s directives, explaining that the ministry is awaiting a cabinet decision regarding the mechanism for completing the disbursement of the 500.
He added that about two million citizens received the irregular employment grant during the 3 months that President Al-Sisi previously directed, pointing out that the new exchange mechanism is determined by the Committee to Support and Aid the Workers Affected by the Economic Repercussions of the Coronavirus,
He clarified that the new disbursement mechanism will not be far from the previous mechanism, pointing out that the president directed the committee to search for the beneficiaries, and the question remains here: is the committee open the door for submitting again, or not? Are the names counted or not? At the same time, he stressed that the committee will refer to the Ministry of Manpower regarding this.
The total value of the grant decided by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, for the irregular workers affected by the outbreak of the Corona epidemic, during the previous three stages, was about two billion pounds and 400 million and 314 thousand pounds, disbursed in 3 stages, each stage worth 500 pounds for each eligible worker, with a total of 1500 pounds About one million, 600 thousand and 216 irregular workers benefited from it.
For her part, Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, and Rapporteur of the Committee for Support and Assistance of Workers affected by the economic repercussions of the Coronavirus, announced the extension of the irregular employment grant of 500 pounds for another three months, in October, November and December 2020.
This comes during its meeting via video conference technology; With Muhammad Saafan, Minister of Manpower, Dr. Nevin Al-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, and in the presence of Dr. Maya Morsi, Chairman of the National Council for Women, Dr. Jihan Saleh, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, and Osama El-Gohary, Head of the Information and Decision Support Center in the Council of Ministers, to discuss The mandates of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Republic, which was announced the day before yesterday regarding extending the period of disbursement of the aid amount to irregular workers affected by the repercussions of the Corona virus until the end of 2020, and agreeing on the criteria, limitations and mechanisms for applying for the grant.
Masrawy has 10 steps for disbursing the grant as follows:
1- The Ministry of Communications sends an SMS message to the mobile phone registered in the name of the beneficiary with the exchange dates.
2- The distribution of the beneficiaries into groups in each of the three batches during the phase.
3- The number of each group ranges from 250 thousand to 260 thousand of eligible people, to prevent overcrowding in order to preserve public safety.
4- Determine 5 days for each payment to conduct the exchange process.
5- The 500 is disbursed through the ATM card that the worker entitled to the grant received at the beginning of the second phase.
6- The disbursement takes place through 14 thousand automated teller machines nationwide.
7- It is expected that the fourth phase will be spent for the same labor that was spent during the previous three phases.
8- The ATM card is activated automatically to be ready for exchange, 24 hours after the arrival of a message.
9- The grant will be paid in 3 installments during 3 consecutive months (October-November-December).
10- The Ministry of Manpower specifies two days for those who defaulted in spending in each batch.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi had instructed Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, to discuss the possibility of extending the disbursement of the irregular employment grant estimated at 500 pounds until the end of this year, especially the tourism sector, during his inauguration of the hydrocracking complex project in Mostorod.
