Activists on social media expressed their anger at the publication of an Israeli song, composed by Emirati artist Hussein Al Jasmi, to celebrate the normalization agreement between his country and Israel.

The Israeli orchestra “Band of Light” published on YouTube on YouTube, on September 15, a song entitled “I love you”, directed by Ronen Peled Haddad, which it said is a tribute to the Peace Agreement that inspires hope and a tribute to the United Arab Emirates.

Emirati Minister of Culture and Youth Noura bint Muhammad Al-Kaabi wrote: “The Israeli Al-Nour Band presents a beautiful music composed by Emirati artist Hussein Al Jasmi on the occasion of the peace treaty,” adding in Hebrew: “I will love you.”

Tweeters circulated the Israeli song, written on it that it is from Al-Jasmi’s tunes, considering it a normalizing step in art, and an expansion of the rejected and condemned cooperation with Tel Aviv.

Palestinian activists said that the song – which was composed by the body – was filmed on the lands of the evacuated Palestinian villages in occupied Jaffa, which was swallowed up by the modern Israeli city of Tel Aviv, and the tweets said: “Treason has no bottom.”

The UAE signed a full normalization agreement with Israel on Tuesday, September 15, after US President Donald Trump announced, on August 13, that the UAE and Israel had reached an agreement to normalize relations between them.

The Emirati-Bahraini normalization of their relations with Israel was met with widespread Palestinian condemnation, and the Palestinian leadership and factions considered it a “betrayal” by the Emirates and Bahrain, and a stab in the back of the Palestinian people.

In the context, the US ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, said that it is better for the Israeli government to attract infrastructure investments from the United Arab Emirates than to attract investments from China.

Friedman said, in an interview with Bloomberg TV hours before the signing of a historic agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates today, Tuesday, that the capital of the UAE money is “better and safer.”

The Palestinians demand the Arab rulers to adhere to the Arab Peace Initiative, and it proposes establishing normal relations with Israel, in the event it withdraws from the Arab territories occupied since the 1967 war, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and a just solution to the Palestinian issue.

However, successive Israeli governments have rejected the Saudi initiative emanating from the Arab summit in Beirut in 2002, as Israel rejects the principle of “land for peace” and wants “peace in exchange for peace.”

The Palestinians see the normalization of the UAE and Bahrain with Israel as a “betrayal” of their cause in light of the continued Israeli occupation of their lands, while Abu Dhabi and Manama consider it a “sovereign decision.”

The UAE and Bahrain joined Egypt and Jordan, which have peace treaties with Israel since 1979 and 1994, respectively.

In contrast to the case for the two Gulf countries, Egypt and Jordan have common borders with Israel, and the latter has previously occupied territories from the two countries, while it did not occupy Emirati or Bahraini lands.
