Armenias Defense Ministry said on Monday that fighting with Azeri forces continued throughout the night and resumed in the morning.
The Ministry of Defense in Azerbaijan stated that Armenian forces fired on the Azerbaijani town of Tartar, according to Reuters.
On Sunday, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan called on the international community to ensure that Turkey does not interfere in the Nagorno Karabakh border crisis with Azerbaijan.
“Turkey’s behavior could have devastating consequences for the southern Caucasus and the surrounding areas,” Pashinyan said.
The Armenian official accused Azerbaijan of “declaring war” on its people, with the renewed violent confrontations between the two arch countries in the border region of Nagorno Karabakh.
“The authoritarian regime in Azerbaijan has once again declared war on the Armenian people,” he said in a televised speech, adding, “We are on the verge of a large-scale war in the southern Caucasus that may have unpredictable repercussions.”
