
China, Sunday, successfully launched two environmental monitoring satellites from the Taiwan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi Province, north China, and the Chinese Academy of Space Technology said – in a statement today – that a “Long March-4B” missile was launched at 11: 23:00 (Beijing time), and the “HJ-2A” and “HJ-2B” satellites were carried into the predetermined orbit.
The two satellites provide services related to environmental and natural resource protection, agriculture and forestry, natural disaster monitoring, land use, water resources regulation and protection, dynamic monitoring of crop areas and yield assessment, as well as emergency rescue operations.
