There are some habits that you do without knowing that they negatively affect your health and lead to many health problems.

Among the most common problems that may occur to a person are digestion problems, which are stomach disorders, gas, constipation, diarrhea, and acidity, when these symptoms occur frequently and damage public health.

The site “super loud mouth” mentioned 6 bad habits that must be stopped, so as not to harm the digestive system, namely:

1- Irregular mealtimes:

The body must follow a chronological arrangement for eating your food, one of the worst habits is to eat breakfast late and dinner at night.

These habits should be avoided to prevent indigestion, so set a time for three meals a day, and don’t skip breakfast.

2- Not to chew food:

It’s not just about when or what type of food you eat, but how you eat it is essential because improper chewing can damage the gut.

People tend to chew food about 5 or 6 times, but it should be chewed at least 30 times, so that your body does not lose its energy in digesting food.

3- Stress:

Stress and anxiety are the main cause of poor functioning of the digestive system, because the mind is directly related to the functions of the digestive system.

Try to control stress levels, practice breathing exercises and make them into your daily routine, and don’t let stress spoil your health.

4- The wrong nutritional formulas:

Mixing food ingredients such as milk with fruits, and dairy products with salty foods slows down the digestive process and may produce toxins in the body.

And if you have problems with digestion, avoid dairy products, nuts, fast foods, and refined flour, as these foods are difficult to digest.

To maintain the health of the digestive system, you must eat fresh fruits and raw vegetables because they provide the body with the required amounts of fiber to enhance the digestive process.

5- Shower after meals:

If you used to eat and then take a shower, then you spoil the digestive system; When you eat something, your body temperature increases in order to digest the food. If you take a shower, you will reduce your body temperature and thus digestion will be difficult.

Likewise, drinking water after meals is one of the bad habits, because water reduces the overheating of the digestive system, and thus the food is not properly digested, and instead of providing nutrients and strength to your body, it produces toxins.

So be sure to shower before meals and drink water at least 20 or 30 minutes after it to maintain a healthy digestive system.

6- Not to give up bad habits:

Smoking and eating late at night are harmful to the general health and the digestive system in particular.

According to some studies, smoking doubles the risk of developing acid reflux, and stomach ulcers and gastrointestinal cancer are common problems that appear in smokers.

Eating late at night and sleeping can also increase heartburn and indigestion.

As for good habits that improve the work of the digestive system:

  1. Introducing probiotics into the diet

Probiotics are healthy bacteria that are able to kill the bad bacteria in your body, thus keeping the digestive system strong, and aid in digestion by breaking down the indigestible fibers that cause bloating, gas and other such problems.

So a poor digestive system is a clear sign of a deficiency of probiotics, which are found in foods like yogurt, apple cider vinegar, and other fermented foods.

2- Keeping the body hydrated:

Although drinking water immediately after a meal slows down the digestive process, it is an important part of the digestion process when eaten properly. It helps digest solid foods and absorb nutrients quickly, and the water also makes the stools softer so that it passes easily.

Nutritionists recommend drinking 2 liters of water daily to avoid digestive problems such as constipation, and herbal tea and warm lemon water can be taken on an empty stomach.

3- Eat more fiber.

Fiber is known to be beneficial for digestive health, and a diet rich in fiber has been linked to reducing many digestive problems, including acid reflux, ulcers and hemorrhoids, and it also promotes regular bowel movements.

4- Add ghee to your diet:

Ghee promotes the work of the digestive system, and without it there is a greater chance of bloating, gas, constipation, indigestion and acidity.

Ghee is rich in butyric acid, which is the energy source for the colon and the large intestine. It absorbs nutrients and removes waste and toxic particles, and it is preferable to eat 2 to 4 spoons a day.

5- sleep well:

Good, deep, and adequate sleep maintains a healthy digestive system, especially sleeping on the left side, which is an ideal position to prevent acid reflux.

6- Take detox:

Taking a detox or detoxing drink reduces general health disorders, eliminates organic toxins, increases energy, reduces inflammation, boosts mood, and aids in weight loss.
