Sayed Abdel Hafeez, the football manager at Al-Ahly, revealed the direction of the technical staff led by Rene Fyler to rest the largest number of key players in the team before facing Moroccan Wydad.
Abdel Hafeez said on Al-Ahly TV: “Wydad has several matches left in the league before it plays against us, and we will follow all the matches and study the team well.”
He added, “He is happy with the level of Kahraba and also Al-Shahat’s appearance well in front of Tanta after a long period of absence.”
He continued, “It is important to us that the level of Al-Ahly increases gradually before facing Wydad and that all the players are fine.”
“In the coming matches, there will be a rest for many of the key players to keep them from stress and injuries,” he stressed.
“Ali Maaloul will also travel to Tunisia to get a vacation period and join the Tunisian national team, and there is coordination with Al-Mundhir Al-Kabir, the coach of Nosour Carthage, so that he does not include him in the next two matches completely.”
With his question whether Al-Ahly will request the postponement of the Pyramids match before the Wydad confrontation, he replied: “The match has been set for some time and we do not want to compromise the league table and there is a tendency to rest the largest number of key players in the upcoming confrontations in preparation for Wydad.”
Regarding Rami Rabia’s injury, he said: “Its details will be known tomorrow, Sunday, but he will be absent for a period of one to two weeks, and I hope that his absence will not exceed that.”
“Now we will focus on the cup match against Arsenal so that there are no surprises in it,” he noted.
He concluded his remarks, “the absence of Al-Sulaia and Ayman Ashraf from the Al-Tarsana match in the Egypt Cup to obtain the third warning. Ahmed Fathi and Walid Soliman will also return.”
