Arsenal lost 1-3 in the third round of the League, before arriving at Anfield in the fourth round of the League Cup.
“We only play football and we want to win matches. As I said, I enjoyed the league match, but this result will not affect Thursday’s match in the League Cup,” Klopp said in comments, most notably his club’s website.
“It will not affect it because we will have to perform similar to the performance we did on Monday, or maybe better,” he added.
“When I looked at the match schedule before the start of the season, I thought to myself that we are facing a difficult test.”
“We need to improve in some aspects and we must maintain our continuity. We have played well since the beginning of the season until now,” he said.
Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta has won the last two confrontations between the two teams, but Klopp surpassed his Spanish rival and claimed his ninth point in the tournament, jointly at the top with Leicester City and Everton.
Arsenal’s score stopped at 6 points, with Mohamed Salah and Mohamed El Nani participating throughout the match with the two teams, and Salah made a goal.
