Leeds United beat Sheffield United 1-0 at Barmall Lane in the third round of the Premier League.

England’s Patrick Bamford scored the match goal in a deadly time in the 88th minute of the match.

Bamford became the first player in Leeds United’s history to score in the first 3 rounds of the English First Division.

The victory raised the balance of Leeds to 6 points in sixth place temporarily, while Sheffield United stuck at 0 without a score in the 20th – last – after 3 defeats.

The Yorkshire derby between Leeds and Sheffield is being held in the Premier League for the first time since May 2001, when Leeds won 6-1.

Leeds United started the league with a hard-fought loss to defending champions Liverpool 3-4, before beating Fulham 4-3 in the second match as well.
