The French Ministry of Defense said that the fighter whose sound barrier broke through the sky of Paris caused panic in the city on Wednesday, and that it was on an emergency mission.
“RIA Novosti” agency quoted a representative of the ministry, that a “Rafale” fighter stationed at Base 113 in Saint-Dizier carried out a mission to assist a plane that lost contact with the control tower, and the fighter pilot received permission to break the sound barrier over eastern Paris to approach that plane .
Earlier, the sound of what appeared to be a large explosion was heard in Paris and its environs, while the police explained that it was caused by a fighter plane breaking through the sound barrier.
