Trump responds to "The New York Times": Paid...

US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he has paid millions of dollars in taxes and that he has much more assets than debt, but has not provided evidence or pledged to publish any data.

The American President said Donald TrumpMonday, he paid millions of dollars in taxes, and he owned much more assets than debt, but he did not provide evidence or pledge to publish any financial data before the November 3 election.

In a series of tweets on Twitter, Trump responded to a report by the “New York Times” stating that he had paid only $ 750 in federal income taxes in 2016 and 2017, after reporting for years that his businesses had incurred heavy losses.

“I paid many millions of dollars in taxes but I was, like everyone, owed… to the tax exemptions… I have very little debt compared to the value of the assets,” Trump said.

The Republican president, who will face his Democratic rival, Joe Biden, on Tuesday evening, in his first presidential debate, added that he had “exceptional assets” and boasted of a “impressive” financial statement.

The “New York Times” reported that Trump’s debts amounted to hundreds of millions of dollars, amid chronic losses to his business, which he uses to avoid paying taxes.

She added that it obtained tax return data that covers more than 20 years for Trump and the companies within his business.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that what was reported about Trump’s debt raises questions related to national security, because citizens deserve to know who owes the money.

“For me, this is a question of national security,” she told MSNBC.
