“The distance of this journey does not exceed nine months, and it took me to prepare for the script. When I read Ibrahim Aslan (a sad owner), I liked it and decided to convert the literary work into a movie because the novel includes new cinematic dimensions.”
Film director Dawood Abdel-Sayed told the scenes of his work on the movie “Kit Kat” in his interview with Al-Wafd newspaper in 1991.The filmmaker said that he continued his journey with the novel by searching for filming locations and long sessions with Anas Abu Seif, the interior designer, so that every scene in the film reflects the Kit Kat neighborhood, in addition to the cohesion and convergence of ideas with musician Rajeh Dawood, the owner of the film’s soundtrack.
Daoud Abdel Sayed continued: “The complete artistic work blends music with the image, and the following sessions were with the artists to give a picture of the world I want and I think that the end of the journey was a film that I will not regret bearing my name.”
Regarding his cooperation with the film’s hero, the artist Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, Abdel Sayed said that Sheikh Hassan is the character he dealt with during the filming of the movie “Kit Kat.” He dealt with more than one blind figure and mastered his role. He said: “I even held his hand at times, thinking that he was blind.”
Film director Dawoud Abdel-Sayed confirmed that the film was delayed due to the lack of a producer that would help produce the film as desired.
