Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad, the new Emir of Kuwait, cried during his swearing-in in front of Parliament this morning, grieving the departure of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
In his speech, he said: “Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad gave a lot to his people and the nation and left a history full of achievements.”
He continued: “The late prince left an eternal legacy that he witnesses internally and externally. Our country is facing delicate circumstances that require unity of ranks and concerted efforts. We are proud of Kuwait, a state of law and institutions.”
