My tip: Failer’s departure? I am a professional pyramids player

Sherif Ikrami, the former Al-Ahly goalkeeper and a new member of Pyramids, responded to the possible departure of Swiss coach Rene Fyler, the Red Team’s coach, saying: “I am a professional player and currently in Pyramids.”

Ikrami added, in comments on the “Ontime Sports 2” screen late today, Sunday: “I am a professional player at Pyramids, but Al-Ahly does not stand for a player or coach.”

He continued, “I cannot talk more than that and go into details.”

Al-Ahly club issued a statement last Friday, revealing that the fate of coach Rene Fyler was decided on the first of next October, whether to continue or to leave.

And about his departure from Al-Ahly heading to Pyramids, he revealed: “After announcing my departure from Al-Ahly, I received offers from the midfield clubs of the Saudi League, and Pyramids contacted me after my decision to leave.”

He continued: “I decided to leave for Pyramids because it is an ambitious club and has a project. Pyramids have the technical resources in addition to having international players.”

He continued: “My relationship with Al-Ahly is great despite what happened in the last two months with the club, and I do not want to put Al-Ahly in comparison with other clubs.”

He ended: “I am not ashamed to admit to mistakes, and after my statements on social media it was necessary to speak because I do not know silence.”

It is worth noting that Ikrami moved to the ranks of Pyramids recently, to be the third deal after the duo Ahmed Fathy and Ramadan Sobhi.
