Pizza is not a healthy food, and a new study conducted by doctors in the United States announced the existence of a negative effect that a meal can have on human health.
Scientists found that nearly 20% of children and teenagers consume pizza every day, and they consume between 84 and 230 extra calories every day they eat an Italian-inspired dish, according to the “netdoctor” website.
It was found that eating pizza as a snack between meals adds most of the calories to the daily intake of young people, which contributes to the addition of 202 extra prices for children and 365 for teenagers.
And increased intake of saturated fat and salt over a long period of time can lead to a whole host of health problems, such as obesity, high blood pressure, cholesterol levels and heart disease, all of which can be fatal.
Lead author Professor Lisa Powell commented, “Children and adolescents do not adequately compensate by eating less other foods on the days they eat pizza.”
“Reducing pizza consumption alone is not sufficient to significantly reduce the harmful nutritional effects of pizza. It is a very popular and convenient food, so improving the nutritional content of pizza, as well as reducing the amount of pizza eaten, can help reduce its negative nutritional effect.
